A Lovely Day

So yesterday was the day Jim and I had looked forward to for weeks. It was Jim's pay day. We popped out in the morning to search for food, a substance we'd come to believe might be mythical, and on our way to Wetherspoons I found my parents cheque had cleared. We had breakfast (with beer, nothing like alcohol at 11am in the morning to set you up for a good day) whilst pondering how quickly our financial situation had turned around.

We went shopping in Canary Wharf and I got myself Command and Conquer: The First Decade as a treat. I LOVE C&C. I was fairly shocked how quickly the graphics in the original had dated... Jesus! I used to think that was the Bees Knees in gaming technology.

Aferwards we popped into our local and enjoyed a quick pint before heading home to enjoy our purchases.

I then headed out for drinks with the work crew including a visit from GP, one of our former American temps from 2005.

What a nice day. I can now confirm that as of this moment I have finished my Christmas shopping. *smug grin*

  1. Yes, C&C sure was a great game!

At some point I stopped gaming on my PC, because I got irritated with all that hardware updating. I now game solely on my Playstation 3 and Playstation Portable. Too bad though the Playstation doesn't offer many Strategy games and MMORPG's (yet). Sometimes I do miss the C&C days...
